I don't know about you, but I'm constantly amazed by the diversity of our planet.
It seems like every week I'm learning about another animal that I previously had no idea existed. Though it shouldn't come as a surprise, seeing as there are over 15,000 new species reported every year, I'm still caught off guard by unfamiliar creatures that sometimes appear almost alien-like.
These friends definitely know what I mean. When they visited a beach in Queensland, Australia, they ran into something they just couldn't identify. Its appearance was so strange that they wondered whether it was even from this planet.
I have to admit that it is pretty freaky looking.video-player-present
However, it is actually a polychaete, or bristle worm. They can be found in the ocean at varying depths and are known to scavenge for food.video-player-present
While this worm isn't newly discovered, it makes me really curious about all the strange creatures we have yet to find in the deep blue sea. Our world is definitely full of wonders!
