Police Officer Gets 10 Years In Prison For Sexually Assaulting Children On The Job

In Flint, Michigan, an ex-cop has been charged with sexually assaulting as many as 50 children between 1996 and 2000. Disturbingly, each incident took place while he was on duty.

The investigation into former police Sargent Lawrence Woods began in 2014 after officers found a large amount of child pornography in his home. Now it's been found that he assaulted at least 50 victims while on duty in his home, local hotels, and even the police department itself.

If authorities had listened to multiple claims of sexual misconduct against Woods from 1996 to 1999, many of the crimes could have been avoided. Woods was with the police force until he retired in 2002.

Woods has been found guilty of assaulting a 13-year-old victim and sentenced to 10 years in prison. However, there could be more trials to come. For more details on his case, check out the video below.
