He Took Some Books, Taped Them To The Wall, And Made Something Incredibly Genius

MARCH 26, 2015

For anyone looking for off-the-wall DIY ideas, this crafty project is just what you need.

This couple had a blank wall in their home that definitely needed a certain something. Their old clock had died, and they wanted to replace it with an item that would express their creativity and their personalities. So they decided to build another clock - exciting, right? But this wasn't just any clock...

This was their blank wall, bereft of its former time-telling glory.

They bought some basic parts for a wall clock and began working.

What better way to tell time than through...novels!

They would use books that have the numbers in the title and attach them to the wall using strong adhesive tape.

They mounted the clock, mapped spots for the books, and began placing them.

It looks finished...but they had one little detail to resolve.

The numbers on the clock felt a little redundant (and kind of defeated the purpose) so they painted it white.

Here's the completed book clock.

This is certainly better than a regular old clock. I just hope they read all of those books before they mounted them! Nothing like trying to tell the time...only to find the three and nine are missing.
