Watch A Family Age 18 Years In Just 30 Seconds. They Did This Every Year.

JANUARY 3, 2014

Zed Nelson is a photographer that had one simple, but one brilliant, idea. He wanted to document the life of a young family by taking a picture of them once a year, every year, in front of the same backdrop. "[In 1991], the wife of a friend was nine months pregnant, and I had an idea…to photograph them together, on the same day every year, forever…. Every year, at the same time, against the same backdrop, under the same lighting. This way there are no distractions, only the miracle of growth and the changes of time and age." - Zed Nelson This is the result of that epic experiment and it represents the changes a family goes through together so well. Scroll through, you'll feel like you know them (especially when their son went through his awkward phase).
