He Thought He'd Pour Molten Salt Into An Aquarium — What Happened Next Is Epic!

MARCH 9, 2016  —  By Joe Welkie

High school science class was cool, but it was nothing like what TheBackyardScientist does every week.

Taking things we use every day -- fish tanks, aluminum, watermelons -- the YouTuber finds new ways, using science, to play with these seemingly normal items.

Recently, he took molten salt and dumped it into an aquarium filled with water. Apparently, salt melts at around 1400°F...and when you put salt that hot in water? It explodes!

Look at that beautiful destruction.

You should always be careful when performing experiments that may result in explosions.

Safety first, epic science second!
