Mom Told Police To 'Just Take' Her Kids After They Saw Signs Of Neglect

NOVEMBER 19, 2016  —  By Hannah Austin

Can you imagine leaving your young children alone at home with no food, no beds, a knife in plain view, and only one working light? Takoya Parker did just that, and when police came to investigate, she told them to "just take them" because she was busy at work.

Sadly, it wasn't the first time the children, ages ten, six, five, and three, had been left home alone. Police had already visited the Pittsburgh apartment earlier in the week after reports came in that the children were totally unsupervised. When they returned for the second time, they entered and found the terrified kids.

Parker's social media shows a fun-loving family, made complete by her fiancé, Cleophus Davis. Looking at the photos, you'd never believe that this mother would leave her kids home alone or give them up willingly.

Just two months ago, she posted this picture of her son's first day of kindergarten. By all accounts, he appears to be a happy child.

And so do the other kids! Is it possible that this single mom just didn't have the support she needed?

Records show that Parker's fiance lives at her address, but there's no word as to where he was that day or if he was supposed to watching the children.

The mother is currently facing four counts of child endangerment. Her children were removed from the home by social services. As of now, the case is still developing.

If you see a case of child neglect or abuse, report it to authorities immediately. There's no telling what might have happened to Parker's children if someone had not intervened.
