A deployed soldier was returning from a long shift when he discovered a little box waiting on his bed. He didn't know what it could possibly be, so he approached it carefully... only to find out what was waiting for him was going to bring him to tears. (You might want to grab a tissue or two yourself.)
It seemed simple enough, a white box with a bow.
But on top was a drawing...
Made by a child. It hit the soldier especially hard because he wouldn't make it home for Christmas himself.
On the back of a Christmas picture was a note from a boy named Dalton, thanking the soldier for his sacrifice.
If that heartwarming note wasn't enough...
The box was full of homemade Christmas cookies.
The note read: Dear Soldier, Have a Merry Christmas and happy new year and thank you for ceping us safe. Sincerely, Dalton (If that didn't make your heart melt a little...) Lots of men and women in our military won't be home this Christmas. We wanted to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU and Merry Christmas!
