A Couple Was Driving Through A Storm When They Recorded This Shocking Video

AUGUST 12, 2015  —  By Joe Welkie

If you don't live in Tornado Alley, you probably don't have a full grasp on how dangerous these cyclones can be. It's tough to deny the power of tornadoes on any level, but until you experience one for yourself, there's no way to comprehend the magnitude of their destruction.

But something that can give us insight into these forces is seeing one that's been caught on film. A Taiwanese couple recently managed to record a tornado in action when they found themselves just inches away from disaster.

Heavy winds from Typhoon Soudelor created a mini-tornado in Tainan City...and what this couple recorded is shocking.

And that was just a miniature tornado. That little twister swept away a car in their video, and what's seriously chilling is that you can't see where it went.

The video below, on the other hand, shows a truly massive tornado barreling through rural Iowa -- and it's terrifying.

While these storms are dangerous and destructive, you can't help but watch them in complete awe. Mother Nature is an immensely powerful force, and she is not to be messed with. These videos are proof of that fact.
